Real Madrid Enter €150m Race To Sign Liverpool Superstar – Spanish Reports

Philippe Coutinho might not be fit enough to play for Liverpool at the moment but the 25-year-old Brazilian is attracting attention from Real Madrid according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo (h/t Mirror).

The report claims that Los Galacticos have joined the race to sign our attacker and that they will battle Barcelona for his signature.

We all know that the Reds thwarted any attempt from Barcelona to sign Coutinho in the summer but the Catalan giants could return in the winter window.

Real too want to get some of the Coutinho action and the report claims that the reigning La Liga champions would be willing to spend big but only in the summer window and not in January.

Things are set to become complicated as Paris Saint-Germain are also tracking Coutinho. The French giants could be a tantalising prospect given that Coutinho’s very good friend Neymar has been doing well at the club this season.

A Tough Decision For Liverpool To Make

Barcelona might have to bid more than €150m for Coutinho in the summer and even though the Brazilian prefers a move to the Catalan side, the chips are in Liverpool’s favour when it comes to selling their star. The Brazilian did submit a transfer request in the summer window but we did not pay heed to that and the fact that Coutinho does not have a release clause suggests we can ask for whatever amount we want for the 25-year-old.

It will be tough to replace Coutinho but with the right investment in the squad, we might be able to bring in a number of quality defensive players that can plug the gaps in our team.

Of course, we would be looking to get someone who can do a similar job to Coutinho but for now, we have to ensure that Coutinho does his job well so that we get back on track in the Premier League.

We are 6th in the table and Coutinho is not expected to play against West Ham United. It will be an interesting time for us when Coutinho does return and if he finds his magic in front of the goal, we could be in for a frantic finish come the end of the season.
