A recent study from the BBC has shared some startling facts about Liverpool’s pricing structure for tickets. The Liverpool Echo carried the report which states that our cheapest season ticket still makes it to the top three most expensive ones, just behind Arsenal and Chelsea.
The report suggests that the tickets for the entire campaign costs £685 while the same for the Gunners costs £891 and Chelsea’s comes at £750. This comes smack in the face of many suggestions that FSG is trying to ensure more people from the city get to watch their club more but these numbers say otherwise.
The most popular season ticket isn’t any cheaper and comes in second at £869 while that of Arsenal’s is just £21 costlier.
The more infuriating fact is that our most popular matchday ticket is priced at £53, which is the costliest in English football while newly promoted Huddersfield has provided the English football’s cheapest season tickets at £100.
It is safe to say that a number of our fans were not impressed with the news and here are some of the reactions from Twitter.
