“I believe it will happen. YNWA” – Liverpool Fans React On Twitter As Reports Indicate £70m January Move For Defender

Virgil van Dijk could be sold in the winter window according to the Daily Mirror after Mauricio Pellegrino stated that every player has his price. The report suggests that Liverpool can sign the 26-year-old central defender for a fee of £70m

and end one of the longest transfer sagas in the club’s history.

We all remember how the deal for the Dutchman fell apart in the summer and we were even forced to publish an apology to the club and player. Van Dijk himself was suspended by Southampton but he has made a return to the first-team. However, he has consistently stated that he would evaluate his future in the winter.

This news will certainly be music to a lot of Liverpool fans as we have struggled to keep clean sheets. We desperately need a quality central defender if we are to finish in the top four this season. Van Dijk would not be cup-tied either and he could play a significant role in our European campaign.

Our fans certainly did not let go of this chance to share their reaction to this latest development and here are some of the best reactions from Twitter.
