Spanish sources claim Zinedine Zidane had talks with Florentino Perez to sign Liverpool hotshot Mohamed Salah

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has urged the club to sign Liverpool star Mohamed Salah after the end of the season.

Salah joined Liverpool from AS Roma last summer and has since been a surprise-package under Jurgen Klopp.

The Egyptian has been in blistering form since joining the Reds, scoring 32 goals and chipping in with nine assists in all competitions this season.

And the 25-year-old’s rich vein of form has already caught the attention of La Liga giants, Real Madrid, who are planning to launch an audacious bid in summer.

Spanish news outlet Diario Gol claims Zidane is desperate to sign Salah at the end of the season and he has already told president Florentino Perez to start planning for a deal.

Such has been Salah’s form for the Reds this season that Real are willing to pay up to £90m for the player at the end of this campaign.

The report adds that Zidane wants the Liverpool winger ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s star striker Harry Kane.

The England international has been heavily linked

with a move to Real and is understood to be on the top of Real’s summer signings’ list, with Perez a huge admirer of the striker.

However, Zidane, whose side romped to the quarter-finals of the Champions League by beating Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 in the second leg on Tuesday, (5-2 on aggregate), has urged Perez to prioritise signing Salah over Kane, with the French manager claiming the Egyptian would suit the Spanish champions better.

Real Madrid are Europe’s as well as the world’s biggest club and have the financial backing to lure any player from any given club. And they would be hopeful of luring Salah away to Bernabeu after seeing their traditional rivals Barcelona sign Philippe Coutinho in January.

However, after just a season at Anfield, Klopp would be reluctant to lose Salah in summer, even if Real come up with an eye-catching bid.

Klopp tried his level best to keep hold of Coutinho but eventually, the player left the club to join Barcelona. In Salah’s case, however, the German won’t be that concerned given the player has time and again spoken about winning trophies with Liverpool.

It looks to be seen what happens in the summer transfer window but in my opinion, Salah is going nowhere.
