‘It is absolute filth’ – Vinnie Jones tears apart Jamie Carragher and wants him to be sacked from Sky Sports

Pundit Vinnie Jones has warned “cowardly” Jamie Carragher for spitting at a young female football fan and says he should be sacked by Sky Sports.

Shocking footage emerged of TV pundit and former Liverpool skipper Carragher spitting in the face of a 14-year-old girl after her father mocked him about Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Liverpool on Saturday.

He has since issued an apology for his actions but that does not seem to be enough to pacify former footie hardman, Vinnie Jones, who bashed him in colourful fashion.

“It is cowardly,” Jones told talkSPORT.

“How has the lad driving it not driven after Jamie, rammed him, dragged him out of the car and beat seven… you know what I mean.

“If someone spat at my daughter sitting in the car, I would have been after them. There is no sitting on the fence here, Jamie is down the road – down the Jobcentre tomorrow.

“Spitting at 14-year-olds through a window? He is presenting on the TV. For Christ’s sake, he is supposed to be one of the top men. You can’t condone that whatsoever. It is filth, it is absolute filth.”

The teenage United fan was sitting in the passenger seat while her father was driving and talking to Carragher about the game.

When the girl’s dad teased the former England defender by repeatedly mentioning the score, Carragher first said ‘alright’ before spitting at the car.

The former Liverpool skipper apologised on Sunday through Twitter:

“Totally out of order & Ive apologised personally to all the family this evening. I was goaded 3/4 times along the motorway while being filmed & lost my rag. No excuse apologies.”

Former Newcastle and QPR midfielder Joey Barton expressed his surprise at Carragher’s actions.

“If Jamie is that annoyed he should just keep his window up, or just tell him to mind his own business,” Barton was quoted by the Independent.

“I’ve done a lot of stupid stuff, and we all get stick, but to do that? Surely he’s got to see the fact there’s a young girl in the car… he’s got kids himself!

“Why is he that emotionally attached to the game? He should be an impartial pundit.

“Look, he’s made a mistake but say that was me, I think my position should rightly be under fire and I think his will be.”

It is indeed a shameful act and Carragher should have rather behaved for the respected figure that he is.
