“They all need to come back healthy” Liverpool boss comments on Reds’ next assignment

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has told Liverpoolfc.com that he is only focused on doing the job in the business end of the season after the Reds gave their top-four hopes a boost at the weekend.

Liverpool tormented Watford 5-0 at Anfield, and the win lifted us to third in the Premier League, two points above Tottenham Hotspur and 7 above Chelsea- although both the London clubs have played a game less due to their participation in the FA Cup.

Prior to the Watford win, we suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of arch-rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford. But our manager was satisfied with the way the team bounced back to winning ways against Watford, signing off for the international break in some style.

Regardless of a top showing at the weekend, Klopp knows there is still a lot of work left to be done with just 7 games remaining in the Premier League. After the international break, Liverpool will have a difficult assignment when they travel to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace on March 31.

“We can only do our job,” Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com.

“We have to win football games and the next one especially will be very difficult. Crystal Palace, they won on Saturday [and it’s] after an international break so we have to be ready in two days.

“We will be ready in two days, that’s a challenge but first of all they [Liverpool’s players] all need to come back healthy and I hope really for that.

“Then we have to prepare for the rest of the season and use the good situation and the good basis we created.”

A mighty win over Watford was indeed needed to bounce back after the disappointing 2-1 defeat at United. The victory at the weekend also strengthened our top-four hopes and following the international break, we travel to Palace which is a tough place to visit.

Given that we have our front-three in sublime form, especially Mohamed Salah, Klopp will be confident of a positive result when he takes his side to Selhurst Park on March 31.
