Liverpool succumbed to a lacklustre 1-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea put up a tough defensive fight to claim 3 points.
A first-half goal from Olivier Giroud was more than enough to put the Blues in the driver’s seat and from there on, Antonio Conte’s men defended like nobody’s business.
The Reds did get close to scoring a couple of times but unfortunately, we could not come out with anything substantial.
Despite showing initial promise, Liverpool’s influence waned and Chelsea scored at the right time and then focused all their energy towards defending. It worked in their favour as the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino tried their best to score an equaliser but to no avail.
It was a poor show from our lads but an alleged dive from Mohamed Salah took things from bad to worse. The Egyptian marvel has been a solid player for us since day one but dive certainly did not win him any favours.
