Deal done: Liverpool complete surprise second signing of the summer for £39million

Trust Liverpool to surprise us with good news at a time when no one’s expecting it! A recent tweet from Liverpool’s official Twitter account sent scores of fans into a tizzy as the club unveiled the signing of Fabinho from AS Monaco, our second summer signing considering that Keita deal has already been done.

As per a report by BBC

, the deal cost £39m. The report also states that a sum of £4m could be provided depending on how the player performs for the Merseyside outfit. Fabinho is expected to make his way to Anfield in July.

BBC claims that Fabinho’s arrival could ascertain the fact that Emre Can will leave us this summer but the fact that we have managed to pull off the Brazilian’s signing is commendable.

The versatile star can play as a right-back but at Liverpool, he is likely to act as the ideal replacement for Can. The defensive midfield department has required strengthening for the longest time now and Fabinho could go a long way in helping us boost our forces.

Given the 24-year-old’s playing traits and skills, it looks like he could prove to be a solid player at the base of the Liverpool midfield which will complement the style of Naby Keita, who would also arrive this summer.

A talking point from our recent loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League was our lack of power in the midfield and it looks like we have taken a major leap towards rectifying our troubles in that area. Fabinho’s arrival is brilliant news and lets hope he is able to light up the park with his performances next season.
