Dejan Lovren is heading to a World Cup semi-final and not many would have expected that at the start of the season.
The former Southampton man has been vilified a lot during his time at Anfield but now he sets up a clash against Liverpool
captain Jordan Henderson’s England for a place in the finals of the World Cup.The match against Russia was topsy-turvy as Croatia led twice and were pegged back by the hosts. Drama was all around as Mario Fernandes scored a header for the Russians in extra time to cancel out Domagoj Vida‘s goal during that period.
The match ended 2-2 after extra time and it was time for another shoot-out which the Croatians overcame, thanks to some great work by Subasic between the sticks.
Lovren’s nation marches on in Russia and as they look to continue their great story. A section of our fans celebrated the great work by Lovren but also wanted us to sign his partner in defence, Vida.
