“I have nothing to say” – Klopp unwilling to discuss about Liverpool starlet’s future

Dominic Solanke

Jurgen Klopp remained coy on Dominic Solanke’s departure from Anfield on loan before the 31st August transfer deadline.

The German manager was speaking in his pre-match press conference before the clash against Crystal Palace and was quoted by the Evening Standard

as saying:

“I have nothing to say. I don’t want to discuss things like this in a press conference.

“I hear this for the first time now, so it doesn’t look like it’s close to happening! Nothing to say.

“We have the 31st August, Italy closes today, and the rest have two weeks. That’s how it is. Nothing to say.”

Solanke joined Liverpool from Chelsea and made 24 appearances for us last season. The 20-year-old started just five games, with a goal and an assist to show for his efforts.

The youngster’s chances of making more starts this season could be dented with Daniel Sturridge‘s return to form. The 28-year-old came on in our win over West Ham and scored the final goal of the game.

Further, Roberto Firmino will be our first choice striker this season and the Brazilian did a pretty good job in our opening game against the Hammers.

The Evening Standard claims that Solanke has been linked with a move to Steven Gerrard’s Rangers on a season-long loan.

Solanke’s need for regular first-team starts will be tough to attain at Liverpool and a move away on loan is the best option for the Englishman.
