Liverpool will install concrete barriers and swing gates at Anfield’s car park entrance with Stanley Park and also put up bollards, according to the Liverpool Echo.
The report adds that the bollards will be placed at the junction of Kemlyn Road and Walton Breck Road while a 1.8m high screen will be installed along the Skerries Road frontage.
The report claims that all the measures have been taken to reduce the risk of a terror attack. Fortunately, these measures are not due to a specific threat but are precautionary, as per the report.
The report adds that planning documents with the city council highlights that the areas for installation have been identified by the police as potential weaknesses.
The report further claims that the bollards will be crash-rated and designed to ensure no vehicles can gain access via the perimeter fence of Stanley Park.
This is the second ruling to take place regarding Anfield in a matter of weeks. The report adds that the stadium can host music concerts and other high-profile events.
The first such event will see Take That performing at the ground next season, as per the report.
