26-year-old Liverpool defender emerges as transfer target for Arsenal

Alberto Moreno of Liverpool

Arsenal are looking at Liverpool left-back Alberto Moreno as a replacement for Nacho Monreal, according to the Mirror.

Monreal has struggled with injury in recent years and is out of contract at the end of this campaign. The report adds that Arsenal are willing to offer him a new deal but interest from Spain could see the Gunners move for another left-back.

Moreno has played under Unai Emery during their time at Sevilla, and the Liverpool star’s contract expires at the end of the season as well.

Arsenal have a limited budget, according to the Mirror, and could make a move for Moreno despite having Sead Kolasinac on their books.

The Liverpool star has a couple of starts to his name but has found games hard to come by due to the form of Andy Robertson.

The Scotland captain is possibly the best left-back in the Premier League and Moreno does need to move in search of more games.

However, selling him to a rival in January would not be a smart decision maybe we can wait till the end of the season before making a decision on the Spaniard.

Moreno joining a non-Premier League club could be perfect for Liverpool and hopefully, that takes place at the end of the season as we need some cover for Robertson.
