Mohamed Salah’s hat-trick destroys Bournemouth – Liverpool player ratings from 4-0 win

Liverpool went to the top of the Premier League after their resounding 4-0 win over Bournemouth. The Reds will stay on top should Manchester City lose, but the performance was fantastic from the first minute.

Mohamed Salah got the first goal of the game before adding a second a couple of minutes after half-time. Lewis Cook scored into his own net before Salah completed his hat-trick by showing his composure in front of goal.

The Reds now prepare for a tough clash against Napoli in the Champions League, and should we play in the same manner, the Italians will be in for a hammering.

There were many other stars on show alongside Salah, and here are the player ratings from the win.

Alisson – 7.5/10

The Brazilian had a couple of quality saves from the tie and did well in tough conditions with the ball swirling around in the air.

James Milner – 7.5/10

The Englishman was played as the right-back and didn’t look comfortable in the first half. He did much better in the second but some of his crossing wasn’t great.

Virgil van Dijk – 7.5/10

A solid display from the Dutch defender but there were a few iffy moments at the back for Liverpool.

Joel Matip – 8/10

Matip was brilliant at the back and even had a few foraging runs into the Bournemouth half during the second 45 minutes.

Andy Robertson – 8.5/10

The Scot was excellent at the back and his crossing was brilliant too. It was his ball that helped us get the third goal and he provided more for us than Alberto Moreno did in the previous tie.

Fabinho – 7.5/10

The Brazilian broke up a number of Bournemouth attacks and was solid in midfield. He did pick up a yellow for a slightly late tackle in the second half.

Georginio Wijnaldum – 7.5/10

Wijnaldum returned to the side and did a pretty good job in the midfield. Nothing out of the word but kept things simple with a few darting runs.

Naby Keita – 7.5/10

Keita was great in the middle of the park as he tried to link up with our attack. Another decent game under his belt this season.

Mohamed Salah – 9.5/10

Salah was brilliant in this tie as he scored from a Roberto Firmino shot in the first half. His second goal was like he was back to his best as he dribbled and shot well despite getting clipped, and the third was incredible. The old Salah is back!

Xherdan Shaqiri – 7.5/10

Shaqiri often dropped deep to pick the ball up and help create an attack. He didn’t have much luck in front of goal but this was a decent showing.

Roberto Firmino – 8/10

A much better outing this time around too. Firmino’s saved shot helped Salah open the scoring, and he looked bright in the attack too.

Substitutes

Adam Lallana – 6/10

The Englishman had some nice flicks but was busted open and had to be patched up late in the game.

Sadio Mane – 6/10

It was great seeing Mane back in the team and we should see him play against Napoli.
