Bookmakers slash odds for Liverpool summer target to join Reds

Nabil Fekir

Bookmakers Paddy Power have slashed odds of French star Nabil Fekir joining Liverpool, according to the Daily Star.

The 25-year-old was linked with a move in the summer but the deal fell through due to a problem in the medical, as per the report.

The World Cup winner was 18/1 to join us on 31 December but the player is now 5/1 to join as per the report

. Liverpool have been brilliant this season and are unbeaten after 20 Premier League games.

The Reds have a strong defence and our attack is ticking along well with Xherdan Shaqiri joining the fun alongside Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.

Fekir would add a lot of creativity to the middle of the park, something our current crop of midfielders don’t have.

The Frenchman can run with the ball but has the ability to slice through defences, something that would help our forward line.

The report adds that Fekir has just 18 months left on his deal in Lyon and there is interest from Bayern Munich and Chelsea.

The 25-year-old has nine goals and four assists from all competitions so far this season, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up away from Lyon.

Liverpool could do with some extra quality in the final third as we look to pick up silverware under Jurgen Klopp, and Fekir could be that man giving us that extra edge for the second half of the campaign.
