Salah, Mane and Firmino to start? – Predicted Liverpool line-up to face Brighton

Liverpool return to Premier League action on Saturday after suffering a second defeat in as many games. The latest one came in the FA Cup against Wolves as we were dumped out of the competition.

Jurgen Klopp rested several players in the tie, but the others could not step up at Molineux. Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino came on late in the game to get a second equaliser but we should see the pair start at Brighton.

The major concern would be regarding the Liverpool defence. Dejan Lovren picked up a hamstring injury in the loss against Wolves, and we need to find a partner for Virgil van Dijk.

Brighton will certainly target the heart of our defence on Saturday, and here is our predicted line-up for Liverpool.

Predicted Liverpool XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Jurgen Klopp

Alisson (GK)

The keeper was rested in the FA Cup and should start for us on Saturday against the Seagulls.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB)

Another player that was rested for the FA Cup clash, Trent has to be at his best against a tough looking side.

Virgil van Dijk (CB)

If anyone required a rest it had to be Van Dijk, and the Dutchman returning for the team will be a huge boost for us.

Fabinho (CB)

It will be a tough test for Fabinho against Brighton, but the Brazilian got a taste of life as a centre-back at Molineux and should look to put up another shift on Saturday.

Andy Robertson (LB)

Robertson has been a star for us this season, and the Scot will put up a better performance than Alberto Moreno did on Monday.

Georginio Wijnaldum (CM)

Wijnaldum could be played alongside Van Dijk as he has experience of playing in a back three, but he has been excellent in midfielder this season, and Klopp should not mess with that.

Jordan Henderson (CM)

The captain should start for us on Saturday, and he needs to take control of the game.

Sadio Mane (LAM)

The Senegal international needs to be at his best after a tough game against Manchester City where he came close to scoring.

Roberto Firmino (CAM)

Firmino should play as the attacking midfielder, and even if he can’t score, his runs will mean trouble for Brighton’s defence.

Xherdan Shaqiri (RAM)

The Swiss star started in our loss against Wolves but should keep his place as we could do with his creativity in the final third.

Mohamed Salah (ST)

The Liverpool star could play as the forward on Saturday, in the 4-2-3-1 formation that Klopp has often deployed this season.
