Former Man United star believes the Liverpool fans can fire Reds to the elusive league title

Liverpool have seen their Premier League charge hit a bit of a roadblock in recent games. The Reds have drawn against Leicester and West Ham, allowing Manchester City to close the gap.

The Leicester game wasn’t our best showing, and once Harry Maguire scored the equaliser, there was anxiety and frustration amongst the supporters.

The fans had the right to get frustrated after the poor showing, however, Paul Ince wants the supporters to get behind the team and spur them on.

The former Manchester United star believed the Reds have a lot of quality and that the fans need to voice their support (h/t Daily Star):

“The supporters can help them win the title, too. Liverpool fans are some of the best in the league, they’re unbelievable, but over the last couple of games at Anfield you can sense that the pressure is getting to them.”

The former Liverpool player added that the fans want the Reds to lift the title, but their anxiety is reflecting on the pitch.

“You can sense how nervous the fans are, and when the fans are quiet the players are quiet. Heading into the title run-in, it’s as much down to the supporters to push the team on.”

The Reds can get back to winning ways as they host Bournemouth on Saturday. Manchester City could be leading the Premier League by the time we play, and it will be imperative for the side to put up a good showing at Anfield.

This would be another chance for the home crowd to get behind the team and hopefully, the Anfield atmosphere pushes the Reds towards the three points.
