Liverpool are already planning for Marko Grujic’s upcoming season, according to Bild (h/t Liverpool Echo). The Serbian has enjoyed his time on-loan at Hertha Berlin and has been one of their best players this season.
The 22-year-old has had injury problems this season, but the Bundesliga side’s sporting director recently stated
that he would like to keep the player next season. The report claims that Liverpool want to send the midfielder to a club that plays European football next campaign. Berlin are ninth in the Bundesliga, but a good run of results could catapult them into the Europa League spots.
Grujic has proved that he can play at the top level, and it will be interesting to keep a track of his development until the end of the campaign.
The 22-year-old needs to play regular football and he did well with Cardiff City too as he helped them gain promotion last season.
The Serbian isn’t the only Liverpool youngster doing well away from the club. Harry Wilson and Ryan Kent have been brilliant for Derby County and Rangers respectively, and it will be important to see if they get to play for the Reds next season.
Liverpool have several options in the midfield and if Grujic continues impressing in the years to come, he should have a future at the club.
