Liverpool could be handed a major boost in April with key star’s return to fitness

Liverpool are cautious regarding the return of midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain despite including him in the Champions League squad, according to the Telegraph.

The Englishman has missed the entirety of the season so far after injuring his knee in the semi-finals of the Champions League last season but has made a lot of progress in his recovery.

The report adds that the 25-year-old is still a couple of months away from being 100% fit and April is the “most optimistic” time-frame for his return.

Liverpool would have to reach the semi-finals of the Champions League if the Ox wants to feature in that competition.

The Reds could do with more creativity in the midfield as they have struggled in recent games. The draws against Leicester and West Ham have brought Manchester City back into the title race.

Tottenham too lie just six points behind us, and we need to get back to winning ways against Bournemouth at the weekend.

Oxlade-Chamberlain’s return before the season ends would be a major boost for the side. The Englishman was in great form before injury curtailed his season last time and if he does return in April, there would be some huge games in store.

Apart from the Champions League semifinals, Liverpool host Chelsea in April while we also travel to a resurgent Southampton side before the clash against the Blues.

The Ox could be the missing element in our midfield at the moment and hopefully, he returns in time to help us to a title.
