Latest Liverpool news: Marko Grujic believes he can break into the Liverpool first-team next season

Marko Grujic continues to impress at Hertha Berlin after joining the Bundesliga side on loan this season.

The Serbian midfielder hasn’t played many minutes for Liverpool

since joining from Red Star Belgrade, but the 22-year-old believes he will get more chances to play at the Reds if he does well with the German side (h/t ESPN):

“If I keep performing like I do now, then there are more chances to come back to Liverpool for another season.

“I’ll return with more experience and better abilities. It depends on what the clubs will decide at the end of the season.”

The Serbian was open to spending another season on loan and was happy to spend more time at Berlin.

Liverpool are planning a future with Grujic

ESPN claims that Liverpool have planned a future with Grujic and rejected a loan move from Torino because it included an option to purchase the midfielder.

The Serbian even spoke about our plans in the midfield and was confident he could do a job under Klopp:

“We know how Liverpool play with one No. 6 and a double eight and I’m not really bothered about that. I can play both positions. In preseason we will see what is the best for me and for the team.”

The midfielder further claimed that spending time at Berlin was a good decision since it is better for him to play more games rather than just sit on the bench.

Liverpool have a lot of competition in their midfield, but if Grujic keeps putting in quality performances, the Serbian could remain at Anfield and play regularly next season.
