Liverpool were rampant against an in-form Watford side at Anfield. The Reds scored five past the Hornets and put to bed any claims of them running out of steam at this stage of the season.
Sadio Mane got a brace early on in the game to calm the nerves before Divock Origi and Virgil van Dijk made the game safe in the second half.
The Dutch defender is one of the best in the world and kept Watford’s attacks down to a minimum at Anfield.
This was the fourth straight clean sheet for the Reds in all competitions, and Van Dijk has been present in three of them.
However, the centre-back did some damage on the other end of the pitch too with a couple of headers.
Trent Alexander-Arnold delivered from a free-kick with Van Dijk nodding it in, and he guided in a cross from Andy Robertson late on to ensure the Reds picked up a huge win.
The three points kept us ahead of Manchester City in the race for the Premier League. Van Dijk is one of the keys to us finishing with silverware this season, and many fans lauded the Dutchman for his performance on Wednesday.
