Scottish giants open to retaining on-loan Liverpool starlet beyond the end of the season

Liverpool FC transfer news: Rangers interested in extending Ryan Kent’s stay at Ibrox

Ryan Kent has been one of the success stories under Steven Gerrard at Rangers. The former Liverpool captain has helped the Gers to second in the table as they look to break the stronghold of Celtic in the Scottish Premiership.

Kent joined the Gers on loan from the Reds and has scored five goals in the league so far. The 22-year-old signed a four-year deal before leaving for Scotland, and the Rangers managing director Stewart Robertson was open to signing the Englishman.

Speaking at the ORSA Convention in New Zealand, Robertson and his response to signing Kent was shared by Heart and Hand, a reputable Rangers fan media outlet (h/t Rangers News):

Future up in the air for Kent

There is no doubt that the 22-year-old needed a good loan spell after a couple of disappointing ones, and it will be interesting to see what happens to him after the season ends.

He would find regular first-team minutes hard to come by next season, and sending him out on loan again would not be a bad option.

Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are tough to replace in the first-team and the best Kent could hope for would be some cup games.

The Reds also have Harry Wilson banging the goals in for fun at Derby, and the Welshman could also be looking at some first-team minutes next season.
