Jurgen Klopp recently suggested that Liverpool won’t be making huge signings in the summer and was more interested in developing the players at hand.
The German added that he doesn’t see many top players leaving the club, like in the past, and wanted to build something special at Liverpool.
The Reds have one of the best starting XIs in football, however, our quality on the bench has slowly improved in recent years.
After the spending in the previous summer, we now can keep the likes of Daniel Sturridge, Adam Lallana, Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri on the bench, while there is a massive fight for starting spots in the midfield too.
Fabinho has been excellent since joining the team while we are yet to see the best of Naby Keita.
The Reds have a few players away on loan too, and there are a couple of players who should be part of the first-team squad next season.
Harry Wilson started the season on fire for Derby County as he was smashing the goals in from all angles. The Welsh attacker even scored a fantastic effort against Manchester United at Old Trafford and has 12 goals and two assists in all competitions for the Rams this season.
Unfortunately, the 22-year-old has gone through a rough patch recently but was still part of the Wales team that beat Slovakia in a Euro 2020 qualifier.
Wilson has the capability of playing across the front-line and the midfield, and he surely could give us something extra during the final minutes of the game.
Liverpool don’t have too many options to play out wide, and Wilson would do a better job on the left or right of the attack when compared to Daniel Sturridge or even Divock Origi.
Another star impressing away on loan is Marko Grujic. The Serbian has been a star at Hertha Berlin and Pal Dardai even claimed that the midfielder could be the best ever in his position at the club.
Grujic has had his injury concerns this season but still has three goals and one assist from 16 Bundesliga appearances this season.
The 22-year-old would provide a lot more steel into the team and could get a game or two ahead of James Milner or even give a rest to Fabinho when the Brazilian needs it.
Milner isn’t getting any younger, and it will be interesting to see what our plans are with the pair next season.
The duo could do with more minutes on the pitch for Liverpool, and unless we give them a fair crack, we will never know how good they can be.
