Renato Velasco, the representative of Everton forward Richarlison, has claimed that the meeting with Jurgen Klopp was not related to the Toffees’ star.
The Metro claimed that Velasco had gone to Klopp regarding what could have been one of the biggest stories this season, however, the agent has claimed the meeting was regarding something else.
Speaking to Sport Witness (h/t Metro) Velasco revealed that Freiburg youngster Noah Weisshaupt’s father, Marco, is a close friend of the Liverpool manager:
“My meeting with Klopp had nothing to do with Richarlison.
“I am an agent of a player of Germany [Noah Weisshaupt], of Freiburg and Germany U20, where his father played with Klopp and they’re friends.
“So they did not see each other in time and I went to his house to take Marco.”
The agent further repeated that the meeting had nothing to do with the Everton forward and that “people” were simply one thing with another.
Everton have claimed that they have no wish to sell Richarlison and the Brazilian forward also seemed to suggest that he is happy with the Toffees.
Richarlison has been one of the bright spots for the Toffees this season and has scored 13 goals in all competitions this season.
The forward made a name for himself when he joined Watford and then followed Marco Silva to Everton.
Liverpool have been excellent this season and sit on top of the Premier League, having played a game more than Manchester City.
Their next game is against Porto in the Champions League before a clash against Chelsea next Sunday.
