Liverpool’s attack hit hard as two stars could miss crucial Champions League semifinal against Barcelona

Latest Liverpool news: Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino huge doubts for Barcelona clash

Liverpool left it late to pick up three points against Newcastle as they continued their charge towards the Premier League crown.

Divock Origi scored the winner in the 86th minute to hand us a 3-2 win at St. James’ Park, however, the Belgian was brought on for Mohamed Salah.

Mohamed Salah against Barcelona

The Egyptian scored our second goal of the night but had to be subbed off after a head injury. Salah left on a stretcher as Jurgen Klopp shuffled his team around, and the German provided an update on the forward (h/t Mirror):

“Mo got the hip of the goalie on his head and was on the ground and the doc had to make a decision, on the pitch or off the pitch and the decision was off.”

This could be a huge blow for Liverpool going into Tuesday nights clash against Barcalona in the Champions League. However, if you think Liverpool could still get a result then  could provide decent returns for you.

The German added that Salah was sitting in the dressing room and was watching the rest of the clash. Klopp could not confirm the availability of the star for the Champions League tie against Barcelona:

“He was then fine but we have to wait. He got a proper knock in that situation. For Barcelona I don’t know. I cannot write your headlines. I said what I have to say.”

BeIn Sports reporter Ziad Mansour further claimed that Salah walked out of the stadium normally (h/t Mirror).

Firmino out of Barcelona tie

The report claims that Roberto Firmino is struggling with his groin injury and will miss the tie against Barcelona on Tuesday.

The Brazilian did not feature in the win over Newcastle and the report adds that he might not feature this season. Firmino missing out on the Barcelona game is a huge blow as he did not start for us at the Nou Camp either.

Salah’s absence would be an even bigger blow as the Egyptian has been in great touch recently. The Reds need to overturn a 3-0 deficit at Anfield on Tuesday, and it should be a fantastic game between the two sides.
