“Words can’t describe this feeling”, “What a night”: Some Liverpool players react to historic 4-0 win vs Barcelona

Latest Liverpool news: Liverpool players react to incredible 4-0 win over Barcelona

This was a night that no Liverpool fan will ever forget as the Reds overcame Barcelona to reach the Champions League final.

Almost every factor pointed to a Barcelona win on aggregate before the second leg of the semi-final.

They held a 3-0 lead after the first leg had rested their players at the weekend and had Lionel Messi in form.

Liverpool were without Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah and had to dig deep to beat Newcastle at the weekend.

However, Divock Origi was one of the heroes for the Reds as he scored a brace while Georginio Wijnaldum also scored a pair.

The Dutch midfielder was excellent after coming on at half-time and could not contain his joy at the result.

Andy Robertson was the player that Gini replaced, and the Scot had a few words to say too.

Trent and Fabinho on fire for the Reds

Trent Alexander-Arnold was possibly the best player on the night. The youngster was a threat down the right throughout the game, and he was set for the final in June.

Fabinho was walking on thin ice after getting booked early on, but the Brazilian kept Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez mostly in his pocket at Anfield.

There was some great work down the left by James Milner as he took up Robertson’s role, and the Englishman thanked the supporters.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain did not play in the game but he had the right response to the events going on at Anfield.

Alisson too was one of the stars for us as he kept out a number of shots from Lionel Messi, and our back-up keeper was more than happy at the work done by the Brazilian.

Simon Mignolet has been a model professional this season, and hopefully, we can finish the campaign on a high.

The Reds could make the season even sweeter by claiming the Premier League crown, but need some help from Brighton as Manchester City lead the league by one point.
