Harry Wilson was on the score-sheet again as Derby County scripted a comeback win over Leeds United to reach the playoff final.
Derby lost the first leg 1-0 and needed a bit of a miracle at Elland Road. Things did not start well as Stuart Dallas opened the scoring for Marcelo Bielsa’s side and it seemed the home side were set to reach the final.
The Rams turned things around with a goal from Jack Marriot and Mason Mount before Leeds equalised on the night, thanks to Dallas.
Wilson then scored from the spot to make it 3-3 on aggregate before Gaetano Berardi was sent off for Leeds.
Marriot grabbed his second of the game for Derby as he made it 4-2 on the night and 4-3 on aggregate, and the Rams held on despite losing Scott Malone to a red card in stoppage time.
The Welsh winger has been exceptional for Derby since joining them on loan and has found the back of the net 18 times in all competitions.
The youngster celebrated the win over Leeds and it will be interesting to see if he can take Derby to the Premier League by winning the playoff final.
The Rams face Aston Villa on 27th May, and Wilson will be one of the key players at the showpiece event.
The 22-year-old caught the eye of several Liverpool fans who wanted the Welshman to return next season from his loan spell.
