The Netherlands booked their place in the final of the inaugural Nations League with a come from behind win over England.
Marcus Rashford gave England the lead after winning a penalty before Matthijs de Ligt levelled in the second half.
England then capitulated as two errors led to Dutch goals and Virgil van Dijk’s team will face Portugal in the finals.
The Liverpool defender has a chance of winning another trophy after his Champions League triumph a few days ago.
The defender was booed by fans every time he touched the ball (h/t Mirror), and it was a bit of a surprise as to why he was targeted and not many other Dutch players.
Van Dijk is one of the best in the world and the booing didn’t faze him. The Liverpool star did his bit in defence and even had one brilliant moment as he brushed off Raheem Sterling to win the ball.
This would be an excellent ending to the season for Van Dijk and the Netherlands. The Dutch have been reinvigorated in recent months, and can make up for missing out on not qualifying for the World Cup in the summer.
Many Liverpool fans were surprised at the booing of Van Dijk, and shared their thoughts on Twitter.
