Liverpool are close to finalising a 12-month extension on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s contract, according to Sky Sports.
The 25-year-old joined the Reds from Arsenal but missed most of the previous season as he recovered from a serious knee injury.
The Englishman suffered a knee problem against AS Roma in the Champions League semi-final one season back.
Oxlade-Chamberlain featured in some games during the end of the season and was a part of the squad that won the Champions League a couple of weeks ago.
The report claims that Oxlade-Chamberlain earns £120,000-a-week, and the extension on the deal will keep him at Anfield until 2023.
The Ox lost one complete year due to his injury and it is a great gesture from the club to provide him with the contract extension.
Oxlade-Chamberlain had become an integral part of the first-team before picking up his injury and hopefully, he will be back to his best next season.
The Reds could do with the driving runs from the midfield that the Ox is known for and it will be interesting to see how Jurgen Klopp mixes his midfield around.
Naby Keita produced some moments of magic before his injury while Adam Lallana struggled to stay fit.
Jordan Henderson, Georginio Wijnaldum and Fabinho helped us win the Champions League while James Milner also impressed last season.
