The Liverpool Echo reports that Andy Robertson has eased concerns regarding his hamstring injury during international duty. The Scotland captain missed his side’s Euro 2020 qualifier against Belgium, which they lost 3-0.
Robertson posted a positive message on his Instagram account, claiming that he would be back for the upcoming season.
The Liverpool Echo adds that the injury should not affect Robertson’s pre-season plans, and the Scotland star should be back at Melwood as the players return from their breaks.
The report claims that the first batch of players are returning to Liverpool on 6 July, but it is to be seen if Robertson will be a part of that group.
Robertson being fit for the next season is a huge boost for us as he is one of the best left-backs in the world.
The 25-year-old was one of the reasons why we came second in the Premier League and also lifted the Champions League. The Scot and Trent Alexander-Arnold created several goalscoring chances via their deliveries from either flank.
We don’t have a quality replacement for Robertson at the moment as Alberto Moreno has left the club for free.
Liverpool could do with a full-back joining the club in the summer, and it will be interesting to see who we target in the transfer window.
