Liverpool are interested in Linfield’s 15-year-old Charlie Allen, according to the Belfast Telegraph.
The Northern Irish youngster has become one of the most wanted players and the report adds that several clubs are interested in him.
Linfield manager, David Healy, could also play the youngster in the UEFA Champions League qualifying round against Rosenborg (h/t Belfast Telegraph
).This would make Allen the youngest UK player to participate in the tournament, and one of the youngest ever to have picked up a Champions League appearance.
The report claims that Manchester United, Manchester City, Tottenham and Leicester are the other Premier League clubs keeping tabs on Allen.
Leeds United from the Championship are also interested, while Rangers, Aberdeen and Celtic are also keen on the 15-year-old (h/t Belfast Telegraph).
The Reds haven’t made big signings this summer, with only the 17-year-old Sepp van den Berg
joining the club. The Dutch centre-back is highly rated and is already training with the first-team.
The Telegraph reports that Fulham’s Harvey Elliott is set to be our second signing of the summer, and the Englishman became the youngest player to feature in the Premier League last season.
The Reds have an excellent team under Jurgen Klopp, and it seems we are trying to find gems for the future.
This isn’t a bad move given that most of our players are in their prime, and have a few quality years left in them.
