Liverpool lost their second game of pre-season after Sevilla defeated the Reds 2-1 in Boston.
The US tour hasn’t been great so far in terms of results with a 3-2 loss to Borussia Dortmund coming a few days back.
Nolito had given Sevilla the lead in the 37th minute before Divock Origi
made it 1-1 just before half-time.The game was a little rough with tackles flying in from all directions, and Sevilla were lucky that some of their players were not sent off early on.
However, Yasser Larouci was brought down by a nasty challenge from Joris Gnagnon and the Sevilla man was shown a direct red.
Larouci had to leave on a stretcher but Jurgen Klopp did not believe the damage to be great on the young left-back.
Although the La Liga giants were down to 10-men, it wasn’t enough for us to take advantage of having an extra player.
Alejandro Pozo scored in the 90th minute to hand Sevilla the win, but most of the players were concerned about Larouci.
This was another important game for the campaign ahead and many top players got some important minutes under their belt.
The Reds finish their US tour with the final game against Sporting Lisbon at the iconic Yankee Stadium.
Liverpool return to Europe to close out their pre-season tour and face Manchester City in the Community Shield on 4 August.
