Liverpool youngster Ben Woodburn joined League One’s Oxford United on loan till the end of the season.
The club confirmed the deal for the 19-year-old and this is his second loan spell after spending time with Sheffield United in the previous campaign.
The Welsh international’s progress has not been great in recent seasons, despite him holding the record of being the youngest goalscorer for the Reds.
A step down by two divisions could be the right move for Woodburn to develop, and it will be interesting to see how he fares at Oxford. The 19-year-old only played eight games at Sheffield last season and needs to start regularly to continue his development.
The youngster still features for Wales and hopefully, he finds his feet at Oxford.
The Reds currently have a lot of attacking talent, even in the youth teams, and Jurgen Klopp could feature Harry Wilson in some first-team games next season.
Rhian Brewster is more or less set to play some minutes for the first-team soon and has impressed during the pre-season campaign.
Woodburn may have a future at Liverpool if his Oxford stint goes well but several fans believed the youngster should be sold soon.
