Arsene Wenger lavishes praise on Roberto Firmino

Liverpool’s win over Burnley provided one major talking point, which was the relationship between Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

The outburst by Mane after being subbed out was incredible as the Senegal star seemed upset that Salah didn’t pass to the open man a couple of times.

Roberto Firmino is the third member of the attack and the Brazilian is one of the most unselfish players in the world.

Arsene Wenger was recently speaking on beIN Sports and praised our attacking trio. However, the former Arsenal manager had some special words for our No.9.

Firmino got a goal in the win over Burnley, and Wenger claimed the Brazilian is the missing part of a jigsaw puzzle (h/t Liverpool Echo):

“I like [Salah] very much, he has huge potential, and Mane as well. But you forget a little bit, the guy who sacrifices himself is Firmino.”

The Frenchman also compared Firmino to a former Liverpool star who has made a great impact in La Liga.

“And like Suarez did for Messi and Neymar, [he is] the guy who works for the team, who works for everybody and gets them to shine.

“This piece of the jigsaw is always very difficult to find: a striker who is generous.”

An incredible find by the Reds

It was a little surprising that Brendan Rodgers was the manager under whom Firmino was signed.

The former Hoffenheim attacker was played out wide by Rodgers, however, it was Jurgen Klopp who unleashed the Brazilian.

Firmino is the highest-scoring Brazilian in Premier League history and that is some doing by someone who drops back to allow our wide men to shine.

The Brazilian is brilliant to watch and he should have more goals and assists in store for the Reds.
