Barcelona scouted Fabian Ruiz in win over Lecce
Fabian Ruiz was one of the stars in Napoli’s 2-0 win over Liverpool in the Champions League.
The Spanish midfielder has been an astute signing for the Serie A giants and even scored a goal in their 4-1 win over Lecce at the weekend.
The 23-year-old played for the Spanish side during the U21 Euro competition in the summer and is a target for Liverpool (h/t Sky Sports).
However, the Reds face a lot of competition for the Spaniard, with Barcelona and Real Madrid also keen (h/t Sky Sports). The 23-year-old plays mostly in a deeper role, however, he can also do a job in an advanced position.
Mundo Deportivo (h/t Sky Sports) further claims that Barcelona sporting director, Eric Abidal, was in the stands and watched Ruiz in action against Lecce.
A quality addition for the Reds?
Ruiz’s stock has been on the rise since his move to Italy and it will be interesting to see how things develop with the Spaniard.
Napoli are one of the biggest clubs in Italy and it will be difficult to pry him away from the side. However, they did sell Jorginho for a huge sum to Chelsea last season.
