Liverpool are one of the two Premier League clubs interested in Leon King, according to The Athletic (h/t Evening Times).
The 15-year-old defender has done well for Rangers’ youth side and scored in the 5-0 win over Celtic in a Scottish Youth Cup clash.
The report adds that Chelsea and other European giants are also keeping tabs on the teenager. King has been a part of the Rangers set up since he was five and he can sign a professional contract next year when he turns 16.
Rangers first-team assistant manager Gary McAllister has also watched the defender, and the Gers hope that he continues his stay at Ibrox for the coming years (h/t Evening Times).
King has also been watched by scouts (h/t Evening Times) and it will be interesting to see what happens next with the defender.
The Reds have an incredible first-team and it is difficult for any youngster to break into that team. However, the Reds signed a couple of young players in the previous summer and have other talented players in the youth setup too.
We have seen some of them in Carabao Cup action, with Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott impressing. King has years on his side to develop and he could do well under current Rangers manager Steven Gerrard.
The former Liverpool star has helped Rangers to second place and they trail Celtic only on goal difference.
