“I’m open to anything” – Liverpool midfielder open to move abroad and experiencing new league

James Milner open to move abroad and experiencing new league and culture

James Milner is one of the best signings we have made in recent years, and its incredible he came on a free.

The Englishman left Manchester City and helped us win the Champions League last season. Milner has been one of the most consistent players under Jurgen Klopp.

The 33-year-old is a free agent in the summer and has spoken previously of wanting to stay at Liverpool for another year (h/t Liverpool Echo).

No decision has been taken on Milner’s future yet, however, he spoke about his options with The Sportsman.

The Englishman claimed he was open to a new league but that depended on his family too (h/t Liverpool Echo):

“I’m open to anything, I’d be interested in going abroad and experiencing a new league, a new style of football, new lifestyle too, but that all just depends on where it is and also on my family too.”

Milner also suggested that he would be more interested in taking up a coaching role rather than joining the media and punditry.

Leeds is still an option

The midfielder added that he couldn’t rule out a move to Leeds, his former club, and he did follow their results from time to time.

However, Milner again claimed he didn’t know what the future holds for him:

“At the moment I’m a Champions League winner with Liverpool and this year we’re really going for the Premier League, but I don’t know what the future will hold.”

The 33-year-old added that he would love to play for his ex-side again but could continue playing for the Reds too.

Milner’s experience and versatility are great under Klopp, and hopefully, he stays on for another year or two.

It is difficult to find someone of his experience and quality and the Englishman still has something left in the tank.
