“Yes, we have to see” – Klopp could sign striker for Liverpool but on this condition

Jurgen Klopp could sign striker in January if Rhian Brewster leaves

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is open to signing a striker if Rhian Brewster leaves in January.

The English youngster hasn’t featured much for the Reds this season with appearances limited to the Carabao Cup only.

The Mirror claims that Brewster could be sent out on loan in January if the right club is found.

Harry Wilson and Marko Grujic have done well during their loan spells, and Aston Villa and Swansea are keen on Brewster (h/t Mirror

).

Klopp was asked if he would sign a striker in case Brewster left, and the manager told the Liverpool Echo (h/t Mirror):

“Yes, we have to see. We can’t just give the boys [away] on loan because we have built this squad.

“We have three long-term injuries and four with Paul Glatzel, two of them were pre-season. Two came later with Joel [Matip] and Fabinho.

“That gives us a 16-player squad and I count the kids, but we cannot only give players on loan and think it is good for him, we always have to consider both situations, the boys’ and ours.”

The German added that he wants to make the best decision but it doesn’t always work out.

Klopp laments Brewster’s injury

The English striker was out for almost a season with an ankle injury, and Klopp claimed that Brewster would have been at a “different level”.

Klopp added that the right decision and the right club have to be taken for Brewster too. The German even named other players who have grown such as Harvey Elliott and Neco Williams.

However, the manager claimed no decision had been made regarding any of them leaving on loan.
