“Generational talent” – Several Liverpool fans heap the praise on young star after Leicester masterclass

Twitter reacts to Alexander-Arnold’s performance against Leicester

Smarting over their defeat against Manchester City, Leicester went into the game against Liverpool with every intention of rekindling their unlikely title charge.

Instead, they were blown away by a Liverpool side who embodied the arrogance and confidence befitting of the moniker of European and World champions.

Liverpool put on arguably their best performance in the league this season as they completely and utterly dominated the Foxes at home. The 4-0 scoreline flatters Leicester as the score could have been at least the double of that if not for Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane’s profligacy.

In a match where a number of Liverpool players gave performances to remember, one player shined brighter than the rest. Trent Alexander-Arnold is only 21 but plays with the confidence and swagger of a seasoned professional.

In a complete performance, the Scouser playing at right-back dominated the right flank and was imperious in both the attack and the defence.

The 21-year-old had a hand in all four of Liverpool’s goals. He provided the cross for Roberto Firmino’s opener, which ensured that Liverpool went into the break with something to show for their efforts.

If anything, he was unplayable in the second half. It was his corner that struck an unfortunate Caglar Soyuncu on his arm, winning Liverpool a penalty.

He followed it up with another pinpoint cross to Firmino, who dispatched it to make it 3-0 on the night. With two assists to his name already, Alexander-Arnold decided to mix it up by scoring a goal himself to complete the rout.

With the best performance of his career so far, Trent Alexander-Arnold has put to rest any doubts regarding the title credentials of his hometown club.

Liverpool fans were ecstatic following the performance and many took to Twitter to express their joy at a sublime individual performance by one of our own.
