Liverpool interested in signing 19-year-old Italian wonder kid

Liverpool enquire about ‘the new Andrea Pirlo’ Sandro Tonali

Liverpool have entered the race to sign Brescia’s 19-year-old wonder kid Sandro Tonali. (h/t Daily Star)

Tonali is being tracked by the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid.

The youngster was instrumental in Brescia winning the Serie B to gain promotion to the Italian top flight in 2018-19.

Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri believes that the Reds are keen on signing the player.

“Liverpool have made inquiry with Brescia over Tonali, the Italian next big thing, whose resemblance with Pirlo is not only about looking alike.”

A deep-lying playmaker who can also play in central midfield, Tonali is a versatile player with an eye for a pass. Since making his debut in 2017, the youngster has made 65 appearances for Brescia and has scored 6 goals. (h/t Whoscored

The midfielder has made 1 goal and 2 assists in his first season in the top flight. He also averages 2 key passes and 1.4 dribbles per game, stats which are better than the likes of Miralem Pjanic, Aaron Ramsey and Piotr Zielinski. (h/t Whoscored)

Brescia do not want to sell the midfielder whose contract runs until 2021. The club has an option to extend his contract by a year, giving them further leverage in negotiations.
