“They’ve got a very realistic chance”: Rival boss warns Liverpool ahead of crunch clash

Nigel Pearson warns Liverpool that Watford game is no free hit

Watford manager Nigel Pearson has warned Liverpool that his side will be up for the match when they face the league leaders at Vicarage Road on Saturday, according to Sky Sports.

The Hornets are currently second from bottom and are fighting for their Premier League survival. They are a point off safety and every point will count in the bid to avoid relegation.

Pearson admits that the expectations from his side for the tie are low. Like any other game, this too has three points on offer and Watford will play to the best of their ability.

He admits that nothing less than their best will do against opposition such as Liverpool for Watford to come away with anything. He also remarked that the result can be thrown into question if the Reds have an off day.

Pearson believes

that Liverpool are primed under Jurgen Klopp to dominate for years to come. He particularly praised the individual quality the Reds possess along with the winning mentality and culture imbued into the club.

“They’ve got a very realistic chance of being dominant for some time”

No idle talk

Nigel Pearson’s assertion of Watford giving their best was on show at Anfield in the reverse fixture. In what was his first match in charge of the Hornets, his team put up a real fight and could even have gone away with a point or more had they been more clinical.

It was one of the Reds; toughest games this season and Watford made sure we earnt out win that day. A Mohamed Salah brace settled the tie after Ismaila Sarr missed a number of chances for Watford.

The Reds won the corresponding game last season 3-0, it promises to be a much harder proposition this time around.
