“Nice story”: Klopp dismisses ‘silly reports’ of Liverpool being denied PL title

Jurgen Klopp calms talk of coronavirus denying Liverpool the Premiership title

According to The Metro, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has allayed fears of Liverpool being denied the Premier League title due to the coronavirus outbreak.

It was earlier reported that Liverpool stands to lose out on the Premier League title, should the season be cut short due to the coronavirus outbreak gripping the world. The report went on to say that in such a scenario the league would be considered null and void.

The German has now laid to rest these fears. Terming the reports ‘silly’, he declared

that he does not think that Liverpool fans are paranoid and that he refuses to believe that any Reds faithful will lay faith in such news.

“I can’t believe that Liverpool fans are thinking about it, and I actually speak to Liverpool fans.”

Jurgen Klopp called the coronavirus rumors silly

Klopp went on to remark that it would make no sense to void the previous results

considering the close fight for the Champions League places and the relegation battle. Both are set to go down ton the wire and the German questioned how such decisions could be enforced.

He also took a slight jab at the media remarking that some outlets will print anything.

“Nice story, always obviously some newspapers they always have to write something.”

The Liverpool boss admitted that he was surprised to see such a news and believes that the club’s fans aren’t silly to believe something like that.

Does destiny await?

The Reds lost their first Premier League this season as Watford beat them 3-0 at Vicarage Road. The defeat brings to an end an impressive 44 game unbeaten run stretching all the way back to January 2019.

In spite of the loss, Liverpool are a mammoth 22 points clear of Manchester City having played a game more. If the Reds win their next three games, they stand the chance to lift the title at the Etihad.

Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola will meet four games from now

Lifting the title at the home of your biggest rivals will be something that the Liverpool fans will be licking their lips at.
