European giants believe £140m is enough to land top Liverpool star in the summer

Sadio Mane is a target for Real Madrid who have contacted the forward’s agents

La Liga giants Real Madrid are keen on landing Sadio Mane at the end of this season, according to The Mirror (h/t Express).

The Senegal star was one of the top scorers in the Premier League last season and has 14 goals in the league this time around.

Mane has been in great touch for Liverpool

since his move from Southampton, and Zinedine Zidane is keen on strengthening his right flank (h/t Express).

The report adds that Real are confident Mane could be tempted into taking up a new challenge in Spain. They have also contacted Mane’s representatives and signalled their interest in landing him (h/t Express).

Mane had signed a new deal with Liverpool recently and won’t leave on the cheap. Real believe a fee of £140m would be enough for the Reds to part with their attacker (h/t Mirror).

Real have spent big in the past to sign Premier League stars. They landed Gareth Bale from Tottenham years back and signed Eden Hazard from Chelsea at the start of this campaign.

Liverpool have to keep hold of Mane

The Senegal star is one of the best in the world and selling him would be a poor move from the Reds. Mane has been one of our most consistent players over the past three years and has scored some important goals for us too.

He has also formed a great connection with Roberto Firmino and Mohammed Salah in the attack, something that would be difficult to replicate even if we find a replacement.

Mane also has his best years ahead of him and we need to keep him at all costs. The Senegalese has only grown from strength to strength under Jurgen Klopp and should improve more under the German.

Liverpool don’t have any financial problems that require a player to be sold. It would also be difficult to find a quality replacement for Mane without spending a huge fortune.
