Alisson Becker keeps his reactions sharp while at home

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker is a key player for his team. Acknowledged as one of the best goalkeepers in the game, the Brazilian offers a much dependable last line of defence.

His absence has been a key reason why Liverpool were kicked out of the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League. The 27-year-old has let in only 51 goals in 79 games for the Reds while keeping an incredible 41 clean sheets. (h/t Transfermarkt)

With the club’s training facilities closed, the Brazilian is busy polishing his skills in his backyard. In a video posted on Twitter, Alisson is shown being put through his paces by who looks like a coach. The Brazilian made easy work of things as he appeared to be in no discomfort and deftly handled whatever was thrown at him.

He followed up the video with a quote asking everyone to not give in on their dreams during this difficult phase. The Brazilian revealed that training helps him stay focussed on his goals and urged people not to lose sight of theirs.

Alisson, a religious man, believes we are tempered by the trials we face as they ensure we come out better once it is done.

The Brazilian’s fitness regimes have been approved by Liverpool goalkeeping coach John Achterberg. The Dutchman actively checks up with his wards during the coronavirus lockdown.

“Alisson sent videos, doing some jumping and exercises,” Achterberg told Liverpoolfc.com (h/t Mirror). “Obviously, we were working with him until the lockdown and he was basically fit.”

Alisson has been an inspired signing for Liverpool. A spate of key performances helped Liverpool clinch the Champions League title last season.

Injuries have kept him out of key clashes this summer. It can be argued that Liverpool would have gotten past Atletico had the Brazilian started between the sticks. Alisson was nearing a return to action as the season was suspended. He will have to wait a bit longer now but from the looks of it, he will be ready when the time comes.
