Liverpool Transfer News: Leeds United pull out of chase for Harry Wilson
According to transfer news from Express, Leeds United have pulled out of the chase for Liverpool youngster Harry Wilson. The Reds priced him at £17m, which is more than what the Whites are willing to pay.
The 24-year-old Welsh forward spent 10 years in the youth teams at Liverpool before being loaned out to Crewe Alexandra. On his return, he spent the next season at the U-23 level. Four successive loan spells followed from 2017 to 2021.
Wilson was allowed to leave for Cardiff City on loan last season. He enjoyed one of his best spells at the Welsh club with his 7 goals and 12 assists in 37 games. After returning to Liverpool, the winger wants a permanent move somewhere after so many loan spells.
Leeds United were said to be interested in the Welshman. However, they are prepared to back out from the deal after Liverpool put a £17m valuation on the academy graduate. The Whites could just turn to alternatives like Daniel James if a deal for Wilson does not work out.

It remains to be seen what Liverpool do now as the club are looking to generate some cash. They are planning to sell the likes of Wilson and Divock Origi as they want to expand Anfield’s seating capacity. With Leeds showing some interest, Liverpool should try and lower their asking price a bit to facilitate a deal.
