Paul Pogba has been linked with a move to Liverpool this summer

French superstar Paul Pogba has been “offered” to Liverpool, with Mino Raiola (Paul Pogba’s agent) trying to orchestrate a cross-rivalry transfer this summer.

Liverpool, who lost Gini Wijnaldum to PSG this summer, would be keen on adding more depth to their midfield. Although the club already have the likes of Thiago Alcantara, Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, Curtis Jones, Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain, James Milner, and Naby Keita in their ranks, Jurgen Klopp would be keen on adding another quality midfield player to the squad.

There is a lot of uncertainty around the future of Jordan Henderson, while Thiago Alcantara did suffer from injury problems, courtesy of which Paul Pogba could be a great signing for Liverpool.

Paul Pogba is close to leaving Manchester United this summer

Pogba, who joined Manchester United in a club-record £93.2million move in 2016, will be out of contract at the end of this season and the Frenchman does not plan on signing a new deal this summer.

Initially, Pogba was set to leave in £50million deal to Paris Saint Germain. However, according to The Express, Mino Raiola has informed the Reds that they could sign the former Juventus star this summer.

This could be a controversial transfer because Manchester United and Liverpool are arch-rivals. But keeping the rivalry apart, the Reds could do with a quality player like Pogba.

Liverpool certainly want to challenge for the biggest trophies again next season and a player like Paul Pogba in the squad will only help the club’s case in doing so.

Apart from Pogba, Liverpool have been linked with several midfielders this summer, including Lille’s Renato Sanches, Hoffenheim’s Christoph Baumgartner, Atletico Madrid’s Saul Niguez, and AC Milan’s Franck Kessie.

While it remains to be seen who Liverpool sign, the Reds are eager to add reinforcements to their midfield line this summer.
