I can not add anything to Ben Davies, ” he said. “We are in a situation and it is not necessary (to say any more). I was really clear that we need more bodies, though. That is something we need to do.”

The report mentions that Liverpool would prefer to let Davies go permanently rather than on loan.

Ben Davies for Liverpool

The 26-year-old had an excellent spell at Preston North End. Liverpool signed him in the 2021 January market amid their injury woes. The likes of Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip were facing long layoffs.

Despite the injury crisis it Ben Davies struggled to make a mark at Anfield. Rather them putting him in, Klopp decided to use Fabinho along with Kabak in a makeshift defence. The player is yet to make a competitive appearance for the Reds.

It would be harder than ever to get game time since first-team defenders are back fit. To add to that, the club has also brought in Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig.

It would be fair to say Davies’ future lies away from Liverpool. The 26-year-old is about to hit prime and could use more first-team action. Hence, the potential move to Sheffield United would be beneficial for him.

Liverpool on the other could use the money from a potential sale for their transfers.
