Confirmed: Liverpool announce 24-man Premier League squad for the 2021/22 season

Liverpool confirm 24-man sqaud for the first half of the Premier League season

According to Liverpool Echo, Liverpool have confirmed their 24-man Premier League squad for the first half of the season. Jurgen Klopp will have to work with the set of 24 players in the Premier until at least the transfer window opens up in the month of January next year.

Liverpool have confirmed their 24-man squad for the Premier League. The Reds have named four goalkeepers in their squad along with Loris Karius, who has been sidelined from first-team action. The keeper has a contract until June 2022

, after which he would be a free agent. As per the PL criteria, Liverpool could only manage to add 7 homegrown players instead of 8.
Divock Origi despite being linked away from the club has been included in 24-man Liverpool Squad.

Players like Divock Origi and Nat Phillips are also featured in the squad despite the players nearly making their exit from the club this summer. Origi was linked with a late move to Fenerbahce but the deal could not be made which resulted in the Belgian staying at the club. Nat Phillips, despite being linked away from the Reds, signed a new contract with the club until 2025.

Liverpool are short-handed after a quiet summer window and will be able to pick young players from their U-21 squad. The likes of Harvey Elliot, Curtis Jones, Neco Williams and Kaide Gordon will be available at Jurgen Klopp’s disposal if needed. Harvey Elliot has been featured for the Reds since the start of the season and could have a bigger role in the team.

The only summer arrival, Ibrahim Konate, has made the Premier League squad alongside Virgil van Dijk, Joe Matip, Joe Gomez and Nat Philips as natural centre backs. With no major attacking arrivals this summer, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, Takumi Minamino, Diogo Jota & Origi round off the 24-man squad for Liverpool.

Harvey Elliott has been featured for the Premier League clubs since the start of the season.
