“I’m 100% sure”: Liverpool talisman promises to help injured starlet during recovery

Liverpool ace Virgil van Dijk is ready to help Harvey Elliott in recovery after he suffered a injury blow against Leeds

According to Liverpool Echo, Liverpool midfielder, Harvey Elliott suffered a major injury blow which could see him being sidelined for the rest of the season. Elliott had his ankle dislocated following a challenge from defender Pascal Struijk in the clash against Leeds.

Liverpool stalwart Virgil van Dijk, who himself had his season cut short in 2020/21 due to a cruciate ligament injury, has come out and promised to help to the youngster to recover from the injury.

The injury to Elliott is a big blow for the player and the team as well, considering that the youngster was in good form since the start of the season. However, his focus will now be on the recovery from the injury.

Harvey Elliott suffered a major injury in the game against Leeds United.

Van Dijk, when asked upon if he would offer help to the teenage prodigy as he himself was in a similar situation last season, replied (Sky Sports h/t Liverpool Echo):

“100%. The good thing is I’ve experieced it with the staff, players, fans, they were all there for me in difficult times, they had our back.

“I’m 100% sure we’ll be there for him, our club will aslo be with him no matter what.”

The injury to Elliott, however, did not derail Liverpool’s plans on the day against Leeds. The Reds convincingly won the game 3-0. Mohamed Salah scored his 100th

Premier League while Sadio Mane & Fabinho added to the scoreline in the second half. The win meant Liverpool stayed in touch with table-toppers Manchester United and Chelsea with 10 points in 4 games.
Harvey Elliot could miss out most this season on the sidelines following his injury this weekend.

However, there have been no updates on how long Elliott could be out of action for the Reds, as he is yet to go undergo surgery on his dislocated ankle.
