Transfer News: Liverpool plot January move for 25-year-old PL midfielder

Liverpool could make a move for Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Yves Bissouma

According to Ekrem Konur via The Hard Tackle (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool could make a move for 25-year-old Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Yves Bissouma in the January transfer window.

The Reds have been linked with the Malian international for some time now and it is believed that the club were interested in bringing the midfielder to Merseyside in the summer. No such move took place and it is now believed Liverpool could make a move for Bissouma in the upcoming transfer window.

The 25-year-old midfielder is also subject to interest from other clubs like Manchester United, Arsenal, and Tottenham.

The Mali midfielder has made a name for himself at Brighton and established himself as an instrumental part of Graham Potter’s team.

The Seagulls find themselves in 6th place in the Premier League table this season and 7 matches and are only 2 points behind league leaders Chelsea right now. Bissouma has played a key part in this achievement as the midfielder brings an assured and rigid presence to the club.

Liverpool lost one of their key midfielders in Gini Wijnaldum this season. Yves Bissouma could help fill in the gap that was created by the Dutch midfielder’s departure. The Malian international could be a great addition to this Liverpool squad and ease a little burden off Jurgen Klopp’s shoulders especially with injuries to key midfielders like Thiago Alcantara

and Harvey Elliott early in the season.

The 25-year-old midfielder could bolster the Merseyside team and provide more options to the German manager. Bissouma has made 91 appearances for the Seagulls in the PL till now. In that time he has scored 2 goals and provided 1 assist for the club.

The Seagulls midfielder could be a valuable addition should he make the switch to Anfield. His experience in England’s top-flight football could help him adapt better to the dynamics of Liverpool. That being said, the Mali international would definitely have to fight for a regular starting spot with so many experienced players in the fray.
