Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah has been voted as the PFA Fans’ Player of the Month for September

The official Twitter handle of Liverpool Football Club have confirmed that Mohamed Salah has won the PFA Fans’ Player of the Month for September. The Reds forward scored thrice in the league against the likes of Leeds United, Crystal Palace and Brentford.

His September goal streak also saw him cross the century mark for goals scored in the Premier League. He is now the fifth-fastest player to score 100 goals in the Premier League.

Salah had a whopping 69 per cent of the vote and was awarded the trophy beating his competitors which includes Michail Antonio, Cristiano Ronaldo, Antonio Rudiger, Ismaila Sarr and Ivan Toney.

Salah’s sensational start to this season has helped Liverpool reach second place behind Chelsea in the league. It also ensured that the Reds remain unbeaten in their 2021-22 campaign.

Fan reactions to Salah winning the accolade

Liverpool fans were disappointed early this month as Cristiano Ronaldo was named as Premier League Player of the Month for September. However, they would be happy that the Egyptian’s contribution was recognised through this award.
